Shirodhara is a form of Ayurveda therapy that involves gently pouring liquids over the forehead and can be one of the steps involved in Panchakarma. The name comes from the Sanskrit words shiro (head) and dhara (flow). The liquids used in shirodhara depend on what is being treated, but can include oil, milk, buttermilk, coconut water, or even plain water.
Shirodhara has been used to treat a variety of conditions including eye diseases, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, greying of hair, neurological disorders, memory loss, insomnia, hearing impairment, tinnitus, vertigo, Ménière's disease and certain types of skin diseases like psoriasis. It is also used non-medicinally at spas for its relaxing properties. Studies report that Ayurvedic Shirodhara is a safe option to improve sleep quality among people who have sleep problems.[2] Shirodhara is also effective in treating mental conditions such as anxiety, and mental stress. The calming effect produced by Shirodhara is similar to that obtained with meditation.

SHIRO LEPA This is a treatment done on the scalp, in which medicinal powders and herbs are made in to a paste and applied on the scalp and then covered and tied with certain leaves.
This stabilises the nervous system and activates the marma points in the scalp and head. The mind as well as all the vital organs in the body benefit due to its unique soothing effect. It is also a rejuvenating therapy which helps cure of diseases of scalp and skin.
Nasya is the therapeutic cleansing of the head and neck region, which purges excess mucous and ama (toxins) from the sinu cavities and surrounding tissues.
Nasya cleanses and opens the channels of the head, thereby increasing mental clarity by improving the natural flow of prana (life force).
First the warm herbal oil is applied onto the face and neck. Specific marma points (energy points) focusing around the sinus cavities are stimulated to open channels and draw out accumulated toxins and phlegm.
Therapeutic heat is applied to the head and neck area in a systematized manner to further liquefy and draw out accumulations.
Next, herbal medicated oil is dropped into nostrils to complete the purgation process.
Tarpana
Procedure: In this process, the rice variety “Navra” which has great nutritional value, is cooked with milk and a herbal decoction made of a herb called ‘Bala’. The mixture so produced is put in puffy muslin bags which are then used to pound the body of the patient by two trained therapists. The treatment goes on for up to 45 to 60 minutes.
